Our writer Marente de Moor just won the Jan Wolkers Prize

The Plunge writer Marente de Moor, just won the Jan Wolkers Prize and the Bordewijk Prize for her novel Foon. The New York Times wrote about her novel The Dutch Maiden: ” it is…the richness of de Moor’s imagination that make “The Dutch Maiden” one of the most delicious novels I’ve read in ages”. 

Four star reviews for The Plunge

In a number of media, The Plunge was awarded with several ****-reviews. Of course in Dutch media but the praise mainly contained the notion of being drawn into a hypnotic world of the story and soundscape whilst seeing a modern beach life in front of you.

The route of The Plunge has been approved

This will be the route. Each location affords its own special view of the sea. The stops, for sitting and listening, consist of theatrically designed installations and are located at the famous Kurhaus, The Meteo Tower on top of the dune at the ‘Zwarte Pad’ and in the dunes near beach pavilion Oscars.

New project The Plunge in Scheveningen 2018

As Scheveningen Bad exists 200 years in 2018, we start a new location project/ audio walking tour based on a historical fact: composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy residing in Scheveningen in 1836. Award winning author Marente de Moor will write her version of this event. Director: Ingrid van Frankenhuyzen, design: Pink Steenvoorden.

Huge porch swing ZlowMotion @ Dutch Design Week 2016

The enormous porch swings Pink Steenvoorden designed for Oh The Sea, are selected for the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven (October 22-30). Oh The Sea in IJmuiden cancelled

Unfortunately Oh The Sea that would have started on June 2nd 2016, is cancelled by the Stadsschouwburg. Oh The Sea this summer in IJmuiden aan Zee

We started to build on location

About 20 degrees warmer than last year, so the build  for the walking audio tour Oh The Sea is progressing rapidly. Pink Steenvoorden this year designed a completely new third location on the beach: a kind of shipwreck with in it’s belly hammocks.
